Your life, your will and your way- God wants all of those.

In Matthew 10: 39, Jesus said, “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it”.

In the Bible passage above, Jesus wants us to have the fullness of life with His Spirit by filling, empowering, strengthening and working through us but first, we must lose our life. What does it mean to lose our life? Jesus is not speaking about our “physical” death. He was speaking about losing ourselves for who we are. He is saying that our lives, once given to Him, are no longer our possession in our hands, but His Hands. We cannot live an abundant life if we want to control things, have our will, have our own way, or hold on to the past we carry.

To lose our lives means we must let go of everything and anything we are holding to our chest (like no o our lives depend on it). It is funny how in our attempt to hold with a tight fist our plans, future, family and friends, our careers and jobs, our property and MONEY, we break down.
In eventuality, we’re worn out, wallowing in anxiety, stress is tearing us apart and we lose the price- ABUNDANT LIFE.

A person who “finds” his or her life to satisfy desires and goals in their own world apart from God ultimately “loses” spiritual life.

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me WITH ALL YOUR HEART.” It tells us that we should find Him with our whole heart, not like 1/2 heart but He wants your whole heart! He will change you if you let Him!
In essence, Jesus is saying that if we truly want to seek Him, we must follow Him and surrender to God everything like our wills, our bodies, and our lives.

Salvation does come with a price-Your life, your will, and your way.
